Use the API in your application
Call the Checkout API over HTTPS from your backend. Do not put x-api-key in browsers, mobile apps, or public repos. For a full guide (payment link, customer flow, lifecycle, webhooks), read Checkouts.Base URL#
All paths in the API reference are appended to the base URL, for example:POST https://dev.kutanapay.com/api/v1/merchants/checkoutsCreate a checkout (minimal)#
data.checkout_url – redirect the customer or send this link by email/SMS.
data.id – store as your KutanaPay checkout id.
data.payment_reference – useful for support.
Typical server flow#
1.
Your app creates an order in your database.
2.
Your server calls Create checkout.
3.
You return checkout_url to your frontend (link or redirect only; never the API key).
4.
Your webhook handler receives checkout.paid and marks the order paid (see Webhooks and Webhook event reference).
5.
If the customer abandons payment, call Cancel checkout while status is still pending.
Other endpoints#
Same header on every call:| Need | Method and path |
|---|
| Cancel | POST /api/v1/merchants/checkouts/{checkout_id}/cancel |
| Status | GET /api/v1/merchants/checkouts/{checkout_id} |
| List | GET /api/v1/merchants/checkouts |
Request and response shapes match the API reference examples (same envelope: status, message, data).Apidog “Try it”#
1.
Set environment baseUrl to your API host (no trailing slash).
2.
Set Auth → API Key → header x-api-key.
3.
Run Create checkout and copy the example into your integration tests.
